Control Your Mind or Your Mind Controls You
This is not a motivation newsletter. This is a discipline framework.
Most people spend their entire lives being controlled—by their emotions, their impulses, their reactions to whatever happens around them.
They wonder why they can’t stick to a diet. Why they can’t build wealth. Why they keep making the same mistakes. Why motivation fades by February every single year. “Next Year…” they say. “If I can just get more free time this year…” they say. Excuses and Limiting Beliefs, I say.
Here’s the truth: Control your mind or your mind controls you.
Everything flows from this. Trading. Business. Fitness. Fatherhood. Relationships. Every domain runs on the same operating system.
I’m Coach Chron. This is my opening statement to you.
I’m not here to motivate you with empty hype. I’m not here to sell you dreams or promise easy paths. I’m here to give you frameworks that actually work—if you’re willing to do the work.
Who I Am
I’m not a guru. I’m a practitioner.
I’ve fucked up. I’ve rebuilt. And now I teach the systems that saved my life.
Humble Beginnings: I grew up in the country. Both parents came from farming families—reap what you sow, plant in season, do the chores. I learned cause and effect early, even if I didn’t realize it at the time.
But expectations shifted fast. Get great grades. Be good at sports. Go to college. All handed down with no guidance on why—no vision for what we’re building or what the point was. Without purpose, it’s tough to lock in.
The Dark Period: College meant freedom. I was hard-headed, full of ideas and vigor, but zero control and no clear direction. That combination put me in trouble—a lot. Underage drinking. Multiple DUIs. Countless lies. Legal trouble that could have ended everything before it started.
I thought I was invincible—until I saw how the system actually works. How controllable people really are once they’re inside it.
One bad decision can cost you five years. I got lucky. Most don’t get a second chance. Fewer still use their mistakes to actually learn.
Here’s what I realized: the system isn’t designed to empower you or create a better version of yourself. It’s designed to control you. Once you’re in trouble, the cards stack against you instead of supporting real change. That’s true whether you’re in the USA, Nigeria, or India.
My mission is to help young men, young professionals, and people of all ages learn how to overcome—before the system decides for them.
The Rebuild: My dark period taught me what most people never learn: discipline isn’t negotiable. You either control yourself, or everything else controls you. Set your course, or it will be set for you.
I spent 15+ years rebuilding through frameworks, not feelings. Financial services at Wells Fargo, APIs and global macro at Forex Capital Markets. Algorithmic trading systems and education with Online Trading Academies. Healthcare SaaS Product Development. I co-founded a CFTC-registered trading firm, spent two years abiding by the rules and getting out of their forced “Enhanced Supervisory Requirements” (‘ESR’, which is a real b*tch for those that know), only for partner burnout and macro conditions to see me shut it down. Ups and downs, but always learning, always building something bigger.
I learned that discipline quietly wins. Every time. In every domain.
The Now: I’m a father of three. I don’t fully homeschool my kids, but I do send them to a school with a “classical” curriculum, and I use a “wealth builder” curriculum at home —not just academics, but frameworks for money, discipline, and life. I manage my portfolio, along with some family capital, with a unique perspective on utilizing leverage for asymmetric outcomes. I work as a consultant and fractional Operator (CEO/CPO/COO) helping companies decide what to build and how to build it using operational systems and strategies.
I wish I knew at 20 what I know now about controlling my mind, my discipline, my future. I can’t give you a time machine. But I can give you the frameworks that work—if you’re willing to execute.
What I Stand Against
Let me be direct about what this is NOT:
No gurus. I’m not selling you the dream of following me to riches. I’m teaching you to build your own frameworks. Independence through discipline—not dependence on me.
No motivation without method. I hate people who say “you just do it!” but give you no practical techniques to actually do it. That’s lazy. That’s useless. Every piece I write will give you the HOW.
No fake certainty. Markets move. Life happens. I can’t predict your future. But I can show you how to build systems that work regardless of what happens.
No spiritual bypassing. I’m not going to tell you to manifest your destiny. I’m going to tell you to build your discipline and let the outcomes handle themselves.
The motivation industry sells feelings. The guru industry sells dependence. I’m offering something different: frameworks that transfer control back to you. You don’t need to do things exactly like me, but if you understand the fundamental pillars, you can build the life that gets you what you want.
What I Stand For
Discipline over motivation. Motivation is a feeling. Discipline is a system. Feelings fade. Systems persist. Discipline is decision automation—build it once, run it forever.
Systems over goals. Goals are wishes dressed up as ambition. Systems are what you do every day. You don’t rise to the level of your goals—you fall to the level of your systems.
Frameworks over advice. Advice is situational. Frameworks transfer across domains. The same principles that build wealth also build character, fitness, and family.
Process over outcome. You can’t control results. You can only control inputs. The process is the outcome. Build the machine, not the miracle.
Identity over tactics. Change who you are, and outcomes follow. Chase outcomes without changing identity, and you’ll always snap back. Your identity is the sum of your kept commitments.
Two Concepts That Run Through Everything
Let me introduce you to two ideas that anchor everything I teach:
Lock In
The ability to focus on something to completion. To direct your own actions instead of being pulled by every distraction, notification, and shiny object. To finish what you start.
The world is noise. Lock in on what matters.
You can’t build anything—wealth, discipline, relationships, legacy—if you can’t lock in. This is the foundational skill.
Controlled Power
A real man is capable of violence but chooses peace. A trader capable of panic yet chooses patience. The ability to NOT do something stupid is more valuable than the ability to do something smart.
The flesh wants. The mind decides.
True strength isn’t in your capacity for force—it’s in your choice not to use it. Strength without control is just chaos.
These aren’t just concepts. They’re operating systems for a disciplined life.
What You’ll Get Here
This newsletter is a framework delivery system. Tactical content you can implement immediately:
Discipline & Systems — How to build habits that run without willpower. Routines that make execution automatic. Small reps compound. I’ll show you how to build the infrastructure of execution.
Wealth & Trading Psychology — Not stock tips. Not market predictions. The mental frameworks that separate people who build wealth from people who destroy it. Risk management IS the strategy. Your emotions are data, not decisions. Trade your psychology first, charts second.
Mindset & Identity — How to challenge limiting beliefs and rebuild from the foundation. You CAN do it—you just haven’t really decided. I’ll teach you to destroy the stories keeping you stuck.
Fatherhood & Legacy — How to model strength for the people watching you. Your kids see what you do, not what you say. Discipline is the inheritance money doesn’t buy. Your legacy is daily, not someday.
Controlled Power — Masculinity that’s capable but chooses restraint. Leadership under pressure. The discipline to not react when everything in you wants to.
Every piece will be tactical. Every piece will come from experience. Every piece will assume you’re an adult who can handle direct talk. And if I change my mind and write about something else that I think is important, then I’ll do that too - because being able to pivot, lean into what’s working and cut-out what’s not, is vital to the long term success of a strategic operator.
The Invitation
Here’s what I know about you:
You’re tired of advice that sounds good but doesn’t work. You want examples and instructions (frameworks) from someone who’s actually built something— failed, and rebuilt, not handed what he has from others. You’re willing to do the work if someone shows you the work worth doing.
You’re not broken, you’re just untrained.
If you want no-BS guidance from a practitioner who’s earned this perspective the hard way—subscribe.
If you want frameworks that compound whether you feel motivated or not, whether markets go up or down, whether life cooperates or tests you—subscribe.
If you’re ready to control your mind instead of letting it control you—you’re in the right place.
Discipline isn’t negotiable. Everything else is noise.
Let’s build.
P.S. — The frameworks I teach apply globally. Ideas transcend continents. Whether you’re a shop owner in São Paulo, a teacher in Manila, or a construction worker in Brisbane—discipline principles work everywhere. The world is small, and the tools for building a controlled life are universal.
